Welcome back to the blog where we explore the best tech tools to make your life as a real estate agent easier and more efficient. Today, we’re diving into a CRM that’s been making waves in the real estate world—Lofty, formerly known as Chime.
If you’re considering switching to Lofty or just curious about what it offers, you’re in the right place. I’ll cover the basics, some advanced features, pricing, and my honest thoughts after using the platform for about three weeks.
What is Lofty?
Lofty is a customer relationship management (CRM) system designed specifically for real estate professionals. It’s loaded with features to help you stay organized, automate repetitive tasks, and better connect with your clients.
One of the first things that stood out to me was the contact organization. Coming from Keller Williams Command (which I previously thought was cutting-edge), Lofty blew me away. The ease of segmenting, finding, and tracking leads is a total game-changer.
Lofty Pricing: What to Expect
Let’s talk about pricing—because Lofty can come with some serious sticker shock if you’re not prepared.
Base CRM: Starts at around $500/month, depending on the features you select.
Add-ons: Features like the dialer, texting, and AI assistant aren’t included and can quickly increase the price.
Dialer: Pay-per-minute model. For example, 1,000 minutes costs about $50/month.
Team Members: Adding users runs about $50/user/month.
Phone Numbers: You’ll receive a company number, personal number, and AI assistant number—but they all require 10DLC compliance registration, which costs $35–$40 upfront and $2/month per campaign/number.
Important Note on Cold Calling
Unlike Follow Up Boss, Lofty won’t cut you off during cold calls. However, if your calls are too short, you’ll receive multiple warnings about being flagged as spam. That said, calling clients directly from their contact record or the mobile app is seamless—and calls are automatically recorded, which has been a huge productivity booster for me.
Hidden Costs and AI Assistant Warnings
While Lofty is feature-packed, most of the powerful tools are paid add-ons. One example is the AI assistant package, which includes 80 contacts by default. Go over that limit, and you’ll face additional charges. I learned the hard way—exceeding the limit by 500+ contacts cost me $488.
If you’re using the AI assistant, I highly recommend setting a lead cap in the settings. I set mine to zero until I completed the 10DLC compliance process. Without it, your AI messages won’t deliver, and you could waste money on failed attempts.
Automation That Works for You
This is where Lofty truly shines.
Smart Plans: Their version of drip campaigns is intuitive and powerful.
Follow-ups & Tasks: Automated workflows have saved me countless hours.
AI Engagement: The assistant can handle basic client inquiries and responses—though again, be mindful of contact caps.
These tools have genuinely helped me streamline my lead management and client communication workflows in ways I didn’t think were possible.
Final Thoughts After 3 Weeks
Lofty is an incredibly robust CRM with massive potential to transform your real estate business. But it’s not without its frustrations. The add-on fees and limitations can add up fast if you’re not prepared for them.
My advice? Do your research, understand the hidden costs, and make sure it’s the right fit for your business before diving in.
